For many, state-subsidised dwellings are an opportunity to get high-quality, affordable housing. It can be granted to a Finnish citizen or a person who has a right of residence comparable to citizenship.

Dwellings built with state aid are called state-subsidised dwellings. The most common ara dwellings are ara rental dwellings and right-of-residence apartments.

How do I apply for a dwelling?

You can apply for a state-subsidised dwelling by sending an application to a company or organisation that owns state-subsidised dwellings. The Centre for State-Subsidised Housing Construction does not own the dwellings, and it is not possible to apply for them directly from the Centre.
